Minister to Minister

Acts 18: 5-6, Mark 6: 1-6, Genesis 11:4

The Faith to Walk Away

One of the biggest test for the minister is exercising the faith to walk away when their labor is not bearing any fruit in the form of receptively hearing the teaching-preaching of God’s Word. The minister must remember that they are called by God. Those that reject God’s Word are not rejecting the minister, they’re rejecting God.

When the minister shakes the dust from their feet, it is a judgment to those whom have counted themselves unworthy to receive God’s pearl.

Acts 18: 5-6…Paul began devoting himself completely to [preaching] the word, and solemnly testifying to the Jews that Jesus is the Christ. But since the Jews kept resisting and opposing him, and blaspheming [God], he said to them, “Your blood (damnation) be on your own heads! …From now on I will go to the Gentiles.” Acts 18: 5-6 AMP

Mark 6: 1-6, In the Jesus’ hometown, Nazareth, they questioned whom Jesus thought he was because they consider him to be nothing more than carpenter’s son. Jesus limited doing any miracles in Nazareth because Jesus will not force himself upon those that do not want him. He could not do a miracle there at all [because of their unbelief] except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them. He wondered at their unbelief.

Minister, the message that God has planted in your spirit is to be sown into good ground that produces 30, 60.d 100 fold. Matthew 13:8

Sometimes your faith walk is to walk away. If the minister is not walking away, what the purpose for remaining? To thrive off of being the center of attention; an ego problem; insecurity.

Every minister that is truly called by God, are called according to His Purpose. If we’re not careful, we’ll yield to the temptation to establish our own righteousness, and purpose.

Genesis 11:4 reads, They said, “Come, let us build a city for ourselves, and a tower whose top will reach into the heavens, and let us make a [famous] name for ourselves, so that we will not be scattered [into separate groups] and be dispersed over the surface of the entire earth [as the Lord instructed].

Genesis 11, records the account of the building of the tower of Babel where the goal of the people was to build a name for themselves instead of glorifying God and lifting up his name.

The tower of Babel is a pompous display of man-made achievement. It emphasizes the contrast between man's view of himself, and God’s view of man.

Romans 8:28-30 teaches that God’s purpose for every person that he has foreknown, predestinated, justified and glorified is that they be conformed into the image of Jesus Christ. Collectively we are the Body of Christ. Individually we are members of the Body, having a special purpose and function as God has appointed for His own use (1 Corinthians 12:27-28.)

No member of the Body of Christ operates independent of the rest of the body. Therefore, as ministers we must resist the temptation to make a name for ourselves; promoting and exalting our churches and ministry instead of glorifying God, lifting up His name, and functioning under His appointment for His own use.
